The picture shown below demonstrates the two core design of constant torque springs. The spring strip is wound onto the shaft A, and the other end is fixed to the shaft B. B’s position is connected to the reel or the gear. When the reel or gear moves, the spring strip on shaft A will move to shaft B, and the force in contrast will make the device rewind and turn the gear in a reverse motion.
The constant torque springs are normally made of SUS301 stainless steel, BTX (1078) carbon steel and SK5 carbon steel. The BTX carbon steel springs with heat treatment have the strongest hardness of HV560-590, and a tension strength of 2000-2300kgf/mm2. BTX carbon steel springs work anywhere between 8,000 to 30,000 times in a variety of situations without fault. Stainless steel springs have the highest rigidity of HV560-590, a tension strength of 2000-2300kgf/mm2, and relative fatigue lifetime of up to 20,000 times. Zongda produces constant torque springs with the thickness range of 0.1mm to 0.5mm and width of 4mm to 80mm. The spring length is adjustable upon request.
