Applications
Allowing remote voltage control and adjustment when connected to loads, this oil immersed power transformer is widely used in applications requiring continuous supply of constant voltage as well as in power grids involving frequent, dramatic change of voltages.
Features
Available with an on-load tap changer, the oil immersed power transformer enables 30% less no-load loss and more than 40% no-load currents compared with one built to GB6451-2008 standards. Extended voltage adjustment range: ±4×2.5%. Able to withstand greater excess loads without much temperature increase in the coil. Rigid construction. Resists short circuits. Provides both functionality and decorative appeal.
Good to Know
A tap is an electrical term, meaning touch or contact. A winding has many turns of wire. A tap contacts the winding at some point between the winding’s two ends. A winding tap change simply means changing the tap position so as to alter the number of winding turns in a circuit.
