MEMS VOA Variable Optical Attenuator
Multimode (Cylindrical Ø5.5)
MEMS VOA designed for multimode fibers provides a solution to the inherent challenges of signal attenuation in multimode fibers, which have larger core diameters compared to single-mode fibers, allowing more light to propagate. Our multimode MEMS VOA employs real-time and precise attenuation of optical signals, ensuring accurate and reliable attenuation. Multimode MEMS VOAs find applications in various fields, including data communication, sensing, and fiber optics instrumentation. Built with MEMS technology, our attenuators offer precise and reliable optical signal attenuation.

MEMS VOA is based on micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) technology. It utilizes rotating MEMS mirrors to control the optical coupling between input and output fibers, achieving precise attenuation levels. The VOA has two variants with different default states: Bright type and Dark type. The Bright type exhibits the lowest loss state at 0 V, while the Dark type achieves the lowest insertion loss between a voltage range of 4.5-5V. With its compact packaging, the VOA ensures highly reliable, durable, and long-lasting operation.
