Veterinary Wound Closure Products

Absorbable and non-absorbable sutures for veterinary surgery
Absorbable Veterinary Sutures
PGA

PGLA (Polyglactin 910) sutures are synthetic, absorbable, sterile surgical sutures composed of a copolymer made from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. These sutures meet all requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia (EP) and United States Pharmacopeia (USP) for sterile, synthetic, braided absorbable sutures, ensuring quality and safety. To enhance performance, PGLA sutures are coated with poly (glycolide-co-L-lactide) and calcium stearate, providing exceptional smoothness, reduced tissue drag, and reliable knot security. Designed specifically for veterinary use, these sutures deliver secure, consistent, and dependable wound closure, making them an ideal choice for various procedures.

Each suture is carefully packaged in 25-meter cassettes and sterilized using ethylene oxide to maintain sterility and ensure maximum safety during surgical interventions. With their proven reliability and tissue compatibility, PGLA sutures provide veterinarians with the confidence to achieve excellent outcomes for the animals in their care.

PGLA

PGLA sutures are composed of natural proteins, pure collagen, and high molecular synthetic materials. These absorbable, braided sutures are ideal for veterinary use, providing secure and reliable wound closure. Available in 25-100 meter boxes, they are sterilized with ethylene oxide to ensure safety during procedures.

PGCL

Poliglecaprone 25 sutures are monofilament, synthetic absorbable surgical sutures made from a copolymer of glycolide and epsilon-caprolactone. Engineered for superior performance, the Poliglecaprone 25 copolymer is nonantigenic and nonpyrogenic, ensuring excellent biocompatibility with minimal tissue reaction during the absorption process.

Available in violet-dyed variants, PGCL sutures are offered in a range of sizes from USP 5/0 to USP 2, making them suitable for a variety of surgical applications. With their smooth monofilament structure, these sutures glide effortlessly through tissues, minimizing trauma and enhancing surgical precision.

Plain Catgut Sutures

Plain catgut sutures are derived from the intestinal mucosa of cattle or sheep. Based on the chromic treatment, they can be classified into plain catgut (lighter in color) and chromic catgut (darker brown). These sutures are sterilized using gamma radiation and come in lengths ranging from 25m to 100m per box, with customizable lengths available upon request.

Chromic Catgut Suture

Chromic-treated catgut is dark brown, while plain catgut is lighter in color. These sutures are sterilized using gamma radiation and are available in lengths ranging from 25m to 100m per box. Custom lengths can be provided based on customer specifications.

PDO Veterinary Sutures

PDO veterinary sutures are sterilized using ethylene oxide, offering minimal tissue reaction and eliminating the need for suture removal, reducing post-surgery discomfort. Depending on the animal's condition, PDO sutures are fully absorbed within approximately 200 days. Our PDO sutures are packaged in boxes of 25-100 meters, providing reliable and safe wound closure for veterinary use.

Non-Absorbable Veterinary Sutures
NYLON Sutures

NYLON sutures are made from polyamide 6 and are available in blue or black. The monofilament structure gives them a smooth surface, reducing tissue damage during pet surgeries. Compared to silk sutures, NYLON sutures offer superior tensile strength and flexibility, making them an excellent choice for non-absorbable wound closure in veterinary procedures.

POLYESTER Sutures

POLYESTER sutures are among the strongest sutures, second only to wire sutures. Available in dark green and blue, these sutures are made from braided fibers, offering high tensile strength. They provide reliable, long-lasting wound closure for veterinary procedures.

POLYPROPYLENE Sutures

POLYPROPYLENE sutures are blue, monofilament, non-absorbable sutures. Their smooth surface allows for easy passage through tissue without dragging, providing minimal tissue disruption. With excellent biocompatibility and low tissue reaction, these sutures are primarily used for soft tissue suturing in veterinary surgeries.

Silk Sutures

Silk sutures are widely used in surgical procedures and are considered one of the most basic sutures. Made from braided silk, these non-absorbable sutures are soft, strong, easy to tie, and resistant to slipping, making them highly operable. They are commonly used for suturing various tissues, organs, and blood vessels, with minimal tissue reaction.
