Primer
At SQUARE Silicone, we offer a selection of PT28, PT29 and PT24 primers for different applications. Detailed information on each primer is as follows:
The PT28 primer is suitable for bonding between silicone rubber and inorganic interfaces such as metal, glass and ceramic materials. It is a high active and easily decomposable silane coupling agent. The hydrolysis group of this primer can be condensed and combined with the bonding hydroxyl of inorganic materials to form bonding SiO. Its organic group can perform crosslink with silicone rubber to enhance the bonding strength.
Note
1. Before using the PT28 primer, clean the relative materials surface.
2. For a better and more even spread on inorganic material surfaces, dilute it to 2-3 times by using toluene.
3. For complete hydrolysis, leave the painted materials at room temperature for no less than four hours or bake them in ovens for no less than 30 minutes.
4. The treated materials should be heat cured together with silicone rubber. Some products may be cured, but the sticking process has not been finished. These products don't bond properly since the sticking reaction needs time and some products have different shapes and thickness.
5. PT28 primer is used for bonding silicone rubber to metals, glasses, ceramic materials.
The PT29 primer is suitable for bonding between silicone rubber and plastic materials such as PC, ABS and Nylon, etc. It is high active and easily decomposable silane coupling agent. The hydrolysis group of this primer can be condensed and combined with the bonding hydroxyl of plastic materials to form bonding SiO. In the mean time, its organic group can perform crosslink with silicone rubber to enhance the bonding strength.
Note
1. Before using the PT29 primer, clean the relative materials surface.
2. For a better and more even spread on plastic surfaces, dilute it to 2-3 times by using toluene.
3. For complete hydrolysis, leave the painted materials at room temperature for no less than four hours or bake them in ovens for no less than 30 minutes.
4. The treated materials should be heat cured together with silicone rubber. Some products may be cured but the sticking process has not been finished. These products don't bond properly since the sticking reaction needs time and some products have different shapes and thickness.
5. PT29 primer is used for bonding silicone rubber to plastic materials such as PC, PMAA, ABS and Nylon, etc.
The PT24 primer is suitable for bonding between silicone rubber and metal surfaces. It is a highly active and easily decomposable silane coupling agent. The hydrolysis group of this primer can be condensed and combined with the bonding hydroxyl of metals to form bonding SiO. Its organic group can perform crosslink with silicone rubber to enhance the bonding strength.
Note
1. Before using the PT24 primer, clean the relative materials surface
2. For a better and more even spread on plastic surfaces, dilute it to 2-3 times by using toluene.

4. The treated materials should be heat cured together with silicone rubber. Some products may be cured but the sticking process has not been finished. These products don't bond properly since the sticking reaction needs time and some products have different shapes and thickness.
5. PT24 primer is used for bonding silicone rubber to metal such as steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, zinc plate, etc.
