Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) for Oil Drilling
Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) is a highly purified and refined cellulose ether that is derived from natural cellulosic materials. CMC is free-flowing powder available in white or yellowish color, it features high water solubility and light transmittance after being dissolved therefore resulting in better rheological property and stronger thixotropic behavior. CMC also has high degree of substitution (DS), excellent acid resistance and salt tolerance.
Advantages
- Cost-effective fluid loss control polymer
- Effective filtration control additive in most water-based drilling fluids
- Effective in low concentrations
- Non-toxic, and not exposed to bacterial fermentation and calcium contamination
- Can be used in most water-based fluid systems
Landoil CMC-HV
Landoil CMC-HV is a high molecular weight, high viscosity dispersible carboxymethyl cellulose fluid loss additive, it is intended to increase viscosity and reduce API filtration rate in water-based drilling fluids.
