Antimicrobial Polyester Yarn DTY
Polyester Drawn Textured Yarn with antimicrobial properties
If the proportion of this antimicrobial yarn in the fabric reaches 20%, it meets the AAA-level testing of the Chinese Knitted Antimicrobial Testing Standard FZ/T 73023-2006 and the Japanese Antimicrobial Standard JIS L 1902:2015. If the proportion of antimicrobial yarn reaches 35%, it complies with the American Antimicrobial Standard AATCC-100.
This antimicrobial polyester yarn has a wide range of applications. It can be used in various products such as clothing, home textiles, underwear, sportswear, as well as medical protective products and elderly care products, maternity wear, and infant clothing. Clothes made from this yarn possess excellent antimicrobial properties, preventing bacteria from adhering to the fabric and inhibiting microbial growth.

- The antimicrobial features of polyester yarn DTY include the use of plasma-assisted antimicrobial finishing, which allows for a small dosage of antimicrobial agents, ensuring high safety.
- Ions graft polymerization ensures that the antibacterial agents will not easily detach, resulting in excellent durability.
- The antimicrobial agents in the polyester yarn do not require resin finishing agent, making the resulting products soft and not stiff.
- The simplified manufacturing process of antimicrobial polyester yarn reduces production costs, enhances product competitiveness, and improves cost-effectiveness.
- The polyester yarn holds certifications such as OEKO-TEX100, ISO9000, ISO45001, ISO14000, and GRS, ensuring reliable and stable product quality.
The antimicrobial polyester yarn DTY is modified using low-temperature plasma metal coating. It involves exposing the yarn to a low-temperature plasma, which is a highly ionized gas, leading to physical modification and chemical activation of functional groups (such as -OH, -COOH, -C=O) on the fiber. This enables the grafting of antimicrobial agents like silver ions and zinc ions onto the surface of the yarn fibers. As a result, the yarn exhibits superior antimicrobial and durability properties. This advanced manufacturing technology offers greater abrasion resistance, improved safety, and better wash durability compared to similar products in the market.
Silver ions can disrupt the bacterial cell membrane, coagulate bacterial proteins, interfere with their metabolism, and inhibit bacterial growth and reproduction, resulting in antimicrobial and sterilizing effects. After bacteria die, silver ions can be released from the cells and continue inhibiting the growth of bacteria, providing long-lasting antimicrobial effects. Furthermore, the antimicrobial performance of polyester yarn DTY is not affected even after washings.
