Product Introduction
Mechanical tees are pipe fittings that are used in place of full flow cast fittings. The threaded mechanical tee is cast from ductile iron in two equal halves: one being the outlet, the other being the strap. An over-sized hole is drilled or cut into the pipe at the location where the branch or device is needed. The threaded mechanical tee is assembled around the pipe, positioning the collar inside the hole, then enclosing a resilient rubber gasket suitable for that particular piping system. The bolts are then fastened, making the branch more secure. Mechanical tees are intended to connect piping directly into the system. Fitting outlets are supplied with female pipe threads (FPT) or grooved pipes. These are labor saving pipe fittings that are designed to provide excellent flexibility and cost savings to contractors, both in the labor and materials. There is no flame required to cut the hole or assemble the threaded mechanical tee, making it a great choice for retrofit and MRO work.Features
