Oldham Coupling
The oldham coupling consists of two hubs and a center disc. The center disc is made using engineering plastic, and can transmit the torque via two keyways that are symmetrically installed at a 90 degree angle. During the operation process, the center disc will slide to accomodate some parallel misalignment of the shaft, without creating any additional torque, and thus, ensures a top of the line performance. The center disc will also absorb some misalignments and reduce noise. It is also electrically insulated. Though it can compensate for a large parallel misalignment, it cannot compensate for a large axial misalignment, meaning it is not suitable for push-pull applications.
With an increase in the work time, the center disc will lose the zero backlash performance due to wear. However, the center disc is easy to replace, and after replacement, the coupling is restored to its original performance.

Applications:
The oldham couplings are suitable for use in coin feeder, airtight sliding door switch gear, airtight sliding door open/close device, in‒line vacuum vapor deposition equipment, parts feeder, transport device, etc.
