Designed with double tubesheet to prevent cross contamination

RITAI Sanitary shell & tube heat exchanger is specifically engineered for demanding applications, such as the heating or cooling processes of injection water (WFI), purified water (PW), and pharmaceutical products. This heat exchanger is equipped with a double tubesheet to prevent the mixing of tube-side fluid and shell-side fluid, ensuring sanitary operation, effectively preventing cross-contamination between the product and the service medium responsible for temperature control. This feature offers significant advantages, particularly in scenarios where service mediums may be toxic or potentially explosive when mixed with the product.

Working principle

The product medium passes through a set of seamless, polished tube bundles, while the service medium flows in the opposite direction along the outer side of the tube bundles. At the end, the tubes are fixed to two short plate flanges, forming a leakage detection area to prevent cross-contamination between the two media. The heat exchanger can be installed horizontally or vertically. The design of straight tubes with expansion joints effectively eliminates the effects of thermal expansion and contraction.

Advantages
  • The double tubesheet design prevents the service medium from leaking into the product.
  • Fully drainable on product side and easy cleaning
  • No dead zones in the tubes
  • No risk of cross-contamination between fluids
  • Designed to comply with FDA and cGMP requirements
  • Can be flexibly or standardly designed.
  • Complete documentation system
Typical application
  • Heat recovery or cooling system in food processing
