Port and stacking areas: The main tower of a stacker-reclaimer is fabricated using a space truss structure. The flange faces of the top and bottom sections must align with an exceptional tolerance of ±3mm to ensure smooth and reliable rotation of the system.
Mining tunnels: Tunnel support systems, weighing up to hundreds of tons, are often designed as variable cross-section arch structures. These are optimized to resist geological pressure efficiently and adapt to varying tunnel shapes.
Hydropower projects: In dam construction, variable cross-section sluice gate girders can extend over 20 meters in length. Precise control of flatness (within ±2mm) is critical to ensure smooth operation and tight seals on the gate.
