Steel drum pressing machine, as essential equipment in automatic steel barrel production line, is designed for the processing of drum bottom, drum top cover and steel drum plugs. The quality of pressing machine is directly related to the quality of finished steel drums. When there is an unstable operation or insufficient pressure, the drum top cover will possess unqualified shapes, which fails to fit the drum body.

When mould pressing, one process during steel drum production, is in operation, unstable manufacturing and low production efficiency may occur due to roughening, cracking, wrinkling and other phenomenon. In this case, following measures can be adopted to improve the mould pressing efficiency of 50-220L steel drum forming machinery:
- Moulds’ Cavity Circular Bead Polishing Treatment: When moulds undergo pressing process, moulds in barrel forming machine should be regularly cleaned and maintained, thus to remove the zinc and oil stains on the surface of moulds in steel rum production line. At the same time, checking the roughness of cavity circular bead is also required.
- Repair Welding of Cavity Circular Bead towards Petroleum Drum Production Line Moulds: When open head and closed head steel barrel manufacturing equipment is in operation, the phenomenon of severe local roughening, wrinkling and cracking occurs, which is mainly due to a decrease in hardness below 40HRC caused by the abrasion of extrusion part circular beads. In this case, repair welding can be adopted to the outworn parts.
- Chrome Plating towards Moulds of Barrel Making Equipment: Electroplating refers to the process of plating a thin layer of metal or alloy on certain metal surfaces to prevent metal oxidation, improve surface hardness and roughness.
- PPD Treatment towards Steel Barrel Making Equipment Moulds: For pressed moulds in steel drum production line, PPD (Pulsed Plasma Deposition) treatment, instead of electroplating, can be adopted to achieve maximum wear resistance effect.
