Valve Solutions for Desulfurization & Denitrification
Flow control products used in flue gas handling system in steel mills and thermal power plants
- Key Considerations for Desulfurization Valves
In industrial emissions, sulfur dioxide is a significant pollutant. To purify the emission of industrial exhaust gases, one of the essential components in flue gas desulfurization equipment is valves, along with related filtration devices. The requirements for desulfurization valves are twofold: they must withstand chlorides, oxides, and acids while also enduring abrasive wear and slurry corrosion. Proper selection of valve materials and structural forms is crucial for extending the valve's service life in flue gas desulfurization.
- Dedicated Desulfurization Butterfly Valves
Desulfurization-specific butterfly valves are designed and manufactured to meet the specific requirements of desulfurization systems. They take into full consideration the corrosive and abrasive properties of desulfurization slurry on valves. These valves ensure that the valve disc is the only component that comes into contact with the slurry, protecting other parts from corrosion by limestone (or gypsum) slurry.
As a result, there is no need to use expensive alloy (2205) materials for the valve body and stem, leading to significant cost savings. The unique valve seat design of desulfurization butterfly valves completely isolates the valve body from the fluid medium. Compared to other similar valves, our desulfurization-specific butterfly valves offer superior seat retention, quick on-site seat replacement, zero leakage, and reduced friction. The valve disc of the butterfly valve is made of high-performance alloy (2205) material, effectively resisting corrosion and wear from the slurry.
