DTH Hammer without Tail Tube Design

  • No nylon tail tube required, eliminating issues caused by tail tube breakage, wear, or thermal expansion and contraction
  • Lower energy consumption and higher impact frequency, achieving 15-30% faster penetration rates compared with similar tail-tube designs
  • Simplified internal structure with fewer components, enabling easier maintenance and lower service costs
  • All internal components are surface-hardened to improve wear resistance and extend service life
  • The top sub and chuck are connected to the outer cylinder via threaded connections, allowing convenient disassembly and maintenance

Performance Highlights
The hammer delivers high impact energy with optimized air utilization, supporting efficient drilling performance across different operating conditions.
Example: Drilling performance of an 8" DTH hammer matched with a 203mm bit under varying drilling depths and compressor pressures.
Key components, such as the piston, are manufactured from special high-nickel alloy steel and produced under strict manufacturing and quality control standards.

To maintain stable operation and extend service life, the following maintenance practices are recommended:

  • Clean the drill rods before use. Rock debris and impurities inside the rods may be blown into the hammer by compressed air, which can affect performance or damage internal components.
  • Apply lubricant to the top of the hammer before each use. Installing an oil mist lubricator is strongly recommended to ensure sufficient lubrication and prevent component scoring.
  • After operation, clean and inspect the hammer regularly. Use clean kerosene for internal cleaning, inspect component wear, and replace severely worn parts or failed seals in a timely manner.

Typical indicators that a DTH hammer is approaching the end of its service life include:

  • A significant increase in air consumption accompanied by a noticeable drop in operating pressure
  • Reduced impact energy and weak hammering action
  • Severe external wear, with the wrench flats on the joints nearly worn smooth

DTH hammers are typically packed in fumigation-free plywood crates suitable for sea freight, air freight, and long-distance transportation.
