Basic Uses
GUIBAO 998 Silicone Weatherproofing Sealant is designed for
- General weather sealing of glass curtain walls, aluminum curtain walls and terracotta curtain walls
- Sealing the joints of concretes, plastics, metals and etc
- Excellent weatherability, virtually unaffected by sunlight, rain, snow and ozone
- Neutral cure – suitable for use on metals, coated glass, aluminum panels, terracotta panels, concrete materials, galvanized steel and many other substrates
- Extension/compression movement capability of up to ±35 percent of the original joint width
- Excellent resistance to temperature extremes, stable and flexible over the temperature range from –50 ℃ to 150 ℃
- Excellent unprimed adhesion to a wide variety of building materials
- Easy of application-ready to use as supplied
- Good compatibility with other neutral silicone sealants

Surface Preparation
Clean all joints removing all foreign matter and contaminants such as oil, grease, dust, water, frost, old sealants, surface dirt, or glazing compounds and protective coatings.
Application Method
Install back-up materials or joint fillers, setting blocks, spacer shims, and tapes. Mask areas adjacent to joints to ensure neat sealant lines. Primer is generally not required for non-porous surfaces, but may be necessary for optimal seal performance of certain porous surfaces. So adhesion test is always recommended.
Apply GUIBAO 998 in a continuous operation using dispensing guns. Before a skin forms, tool the sealant with light pressure to spread the sealant against the backing materials and joint surfaces. Remove masking tape as soon as the bead is tooled.
