Working Principle of the Nd: Yag Laser
Tattoo removal equipment is based on specific laser wave lengths (1064nm or 532nm) being absorbed by specific pigments. The high energy laser beam causes pigment to swell and explode, some of which will break out of the body and others of which will be flushed out by the patient's immune system over time. Because the skin absorbs little of the energy at wavelengths of 1064nm or 532nm, the laser beauty equipment can selectively target and destroy the tattoo pigments while leaving the skin intact.
