Clear patterned glass is also known as figured glass, rolled glass, obscured glass or frosted glass. It is manufactured using a rolling process that involves pressing patterned rollers onto one or both sides of the glass before it is tempered. This creates a decorative pattern on the surface, which is why clear patterned glass has figures in one or both surfaces.
The patterns pressed onto the glass have different depths, which create a beautiful diffuse effect when light passes through, allowing objects behind the clear patterned glass to remain visible but become obscured when viewed from the other side.
