Overflow Ball Mill
The overflow ball mill is used to grind ores and other materials to fine particles.
Working principles
The transmission device drives the shell to rotate. After materials and water are fed into the shell, the size of the materials is reduced by the impact of the steel balls and ores that drop from the feeding end. The continuous feeding compels the materials to move from the feeding end to the discharge end. The ore slurry as a mixture of the ground particles with appropriate sizes and water flows out of the outlet.
- The transmission device adopts big double-row spherical roller bearings and hybrid bearings, substantially decreasing the friction force, enabling an easier starting and reducing the energy consumption by 20% to 30%.
- The adoption of grooved ring high manganese steel liners increases the contact surface between the balls and the ores to strengthen the grinding, reducing the energy consumption.
- The steel frame can be used for the ball mills with a diameter under 2.7 meters to benefit the modular plant design, civil engineering constructions and equipment installation.
- A large discharge outlet boosts the production capacity.
- The ball mills can be equipped with a high-voltage or low-voltage electric motor and deploy high manganese steel or wear-resistant rubber liners according to users' site conditions and demands. The customers can also choose the brand of motor and reducer which are installed in a ball mill.
- The ball mills adopting hybrid bearings are also equipped with hydraulic jacks to make it convenient for installation and overhauling.

- The oil-mist lubrication device ensures the gears' reliable and smooth function.
The overflow ball mill can be used in preliminary grinding and further grinding for finer particles.
As one type of the most common mining equipments, ball mills are widely used in mineral processing, construction and chemical industries and for acquiring silicate and other processed ores. In general, the ball mills are used by small, medium and large-sized mineral processing companies to crush and grind ores, including gold, silver, copper, lead, zinc, nickel, manganese, iron and molybdenum, as well as limestone, barite, quartz, graphite, feldspar and fluorspar.
