According to Order No. 17 issued by the Ministry of Petroleum Industry of China in 1982, Jichai began developing high-power turbocharged natural gas engines in 1982. From 1984 to 1988, three prototype tests were completed in the laboratory, followed by 10,000 hours of industrial testing in the Shengli Oilfield. On October 12, 1988, the engine was officially certified by the state as a 600 kW / 1000 r/min externally mixed, turbocharged high-power gas engine. After decades of continuous improvement, the product line has been fully serialized and is now widely used across various oil and gas sectors, delivering significant economic benefits.
