Rare Gas

Krypton is a rare, inert gas that is colorless, odorless, non-toxic, and non-flammable. Known for its high density, low thermal conductivity, and high transmittance, krypton is widely used in the electronics industry and lighting applications. Krypton-filled bulbs have higher luminous efficiency, smaller size, longer lifespan, and better energy efficiency compared to argon-filled bulbs. It is extensively used in mining lamps and, due to its high transmittance, in off-road vehicle lights for night combat and airplane runway indicator lights. In the medical field, krypton is used to measure cerebral blood flow. Its isotopes serve as tracers and in leak detection for sealed containers and continuous material thickness measurement. Krypton-86 is used for international length standards, and Krypton-85 is used in material “kryptonization.”
