Calcium L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate, also known as L-5-MTHF-Ca, is able to produce L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate which is the only kind of folic acid pharmaceuticals that could penetrate BBB (blood brain barrier) to prevent and treat AD (Alzheimer’s disease). 2. The produced L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate is most often used as active pharmaceutical ingredients and food additives to reduce the risk of neonatal neural tube defects (NTDs) and arteriosclerosis, or to cure megaloblastic anemia. |
