Bulletproof glass is a composite material that is made by bonding multiple pieces of glass and high-strength organic sheets together using transparent adhesive materials such as PVB film or SentryGlas Plus (SGP) film. The material is typically transparent and is also known as SGP laminated glass.

There are three layers that make up bulletproof glass:
  • Load-bearing layer: it is the first layer that can withstand impact and shatter. Generally, it is made by thick and high-strength glass, which can deform or even destroy the bullet, preventing it from continuing to move forward.
  • Transition layer: it is generally made by organic adhesive materials that have strong bonding force and good light resistance. It can absorb some of the impact energy and change the direction of the bullet’s movement.
  • Protective layer: it is generally made by elastic, tough and high-strength glass, which absorbs most of the impact, ensuring that the bullet cannot penetrate the layer.
Advantages of Bulletproof Glass
  • High bomb blast resistance
  • Good resistance against heat, radiation and moisture.
  • Adaptive to various environments
  • Not easily penetrated by projectiles
Applications of Bulletproof Glass
  • Bulletproof glass for automotive use is applied on armored cash transport vehicles, as well as military and police vehicles.
  • Bulletproof glass for non-automotive use is applied in places that may face gunshots or contain valuable properties, such as bank counters, vaults, jewelry stores, police stations, and shooting ranges.
