The shelf plate freezer is widely used for the rapid freezing of portioned poultry and meat, seafood, prepared foods, and certain fruits and vegetables. As an upgraded alternative to traditional shelf-piped freezing rooms, this quick freezing system eliminates the need for civil construction and insulation structures, offering flexible placement and simple maintenance.
Food items are in direct contact with the metal plate’s bottom surface while cold air, generated by fans, circulates around the other surfaces for convective heat exchange. This dual heat transfer method, combining direct contact and cold air convection, represents the contact-air blast freezing approach, which enhances freezing efficiency through simultaneous conductive and convective cooling.
