Prestressing Strand (PC Strand)
RuiTong Steel offers a wide array of prestressing strands (PC Strand), twisted steel cable composed of high strength steel wires, available in both bonded and unbonded types, designed to significantly enhance the reinforcement of prestressed concrete structures. PC strands are essential in fortifying large-span railway and highway bridges, major bridges, silos, buildings, dams, floor slabs, foundations, large concrete vessels, crane beams, anchorages, multi-storied industrial buildings, and more. They are also employed in the construction of roads, utility poles, water towers, and other civil structures, boosting their tensile strength remarkably.
Manufactured from high-carbon steel, our PC strands exhibit low relaxation and stable elastic modulus properties, ensuring a lasting bond with concrete. Its use across diverse projects underlines its importance in modern construction and engineering fields.
Our PC strands are fully tested and compliant with international standards, ready to support your most ambitious architectural and infrastructural projects.
- Standard: ASTM A416
- Material: 250/270 (82B/77B)
- Construction: 1×7 & 1×19
- Lay direction: left-hand lay or right-hand lay
- Packaging: export anti-rust packing
Unbonded prestressed concrete steel strand is engineered with a coating of anti-corrosion grease and encased in a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) sheath. This specialized construction not only guards against environmental damage but also ensures the strand's freedom to move within the sheath, which is crucial for accommodating tension and compression forces in prestressed concrete applications. The default sheathing color is black, providing a standard, neutral option suitable for various construction aesthetics. However, we understand that specific projects may require different visual integrations. Therefore, we offer customization in the sheathing's color upon request. It is important to note that any added colorants are carefully selected to ensure they do not compromise the sheath's performance, maintaining its protective qualities and structural integrity.
