AC/DC Series Motor, Universal Motor
Shanbo EM offers universal motors which can be used with either a single phase AC source or a DC source, and can run at a range of 100-240V and 50-60Hz. These universal motors generally come built into hydraulic systems, healthcare devices, power tools, etc.

Easy To Use
A universal motor can operate on both DC and AC power supplies. The speed of universal motor can be controlled by simply changing the input voltage. Hence, the speed control of universal motor is easily achieved. -
High Speed, Compact Size, Lightweight, High Output Power
Unlike other AC motors whose rotation speed can not exceed 3000r/min at frequency of 50Hz, the speed of single-phase series motor is not limited by the supply frequency and it generally ranges between 10000r/min and 30000r/min. The higher the motor speed, the less the ferromagnetic material used, thereby universal motors are relatively lightweight. The weight of single-phase series motor 10000r/min is only half the weight of single-phase asynchronous motor 3000r/min at the same power condition. Here is an example, a customer has requested output power to reach 1.65kW and the outer diameter of motor must be less than 98mm. In this case, only high speed series motor can reach the requirements. -
High Starting Torque, Good Load Carrying Capacity
Single-phase series motor features a higher starting torque that is 4 to 6 times of the rated torque, while the starting torque of other single-phase AC motors is approximately 2 times of the rated torque. Therefore, series motors are typically used in power tools without getting stuck, also suited to be used as servo motor to accommodate a heavier starting load, due to its exceptional load carrying capacity.
