Manganese steel is a high strength steel, often used for parts production that require a high impact resistance, extrusion resistance, and wear resistance. However, cutting this material requires a high cutting temperature, and often leads to an easy chip breakage and uncontrollable dimensional accuracy. A PCBN insert solves all of these problems with their outstanding toughness and high wear resistance. The BNS2502 and BNW2502 PCBN inserts feature a PCBN content of 88-90%, making them ideal for cutting manganese steel.
