Modified sine wave inverters are used in electrical appliances, and feature a lower cost than a pure sine wave inverter, making it more popular. Taking into consideration that there are specific time intervals between the positive and negative maximums of the modified wave form in a square wave, we recommend that this modified sine wave inverter not be used on inductive load type appliances such as refrigerators or electrical drills, as this may cause damage to both the inverter and relevant motor, or shorten the service life of both due to the high output waveform requirements.
