Handheld surface-velocity radars make it easy to measure flow speed without having to put any equipment in the water. They use K-band non-contact measurement to read surface velocity in rivers, wastewater channels, muddy streams and coastal areas. Their compact and lightweight build makes them easy to carry during field inspections, and one-hand operation keeps the process straightforward. Because the readings are taken from above the surface, the sensors are not affected by corrosion, sediment or suspended solids. Portable non-contact radars are widely used for routine field checks, flood-season patrols and on-site wastewater inspections, and they stay reliable even when the conditions change fast.
