Absorbable Sutures

Monofilament surgical suture prepared from a synthetic polymer called poly (p-dioxanone)

Polydioxanone suture (PDO) sutures consist of a high-quality stainless steel needle and a monofilament synthetic absorbable suture made from poly (p-dioxanone). The suture material provides high strength and long-lasting tensile resistance, making it suitable for extended tissue support. PDO sutures are hydrolyzed over time and offer excellent flexibility and consistent diameter. The suture is uniformly thick, flexible, and packaged in sealed sterile packaging, ensuring durability and consistency during use. With excellent elasticity and toughness, PDO sutures are a reliable option for a variety of surgical applications.

Advantages
  • Its high initial tensile strength ensures reliable support during the early healing stages.
  • Offers extended tissue support, ideal for long-term healing needs
  • Designed to reduce tissue inflammation and promote smooth healing.
  • The smooth surface minimizes trauma and reduces the chance of infection.
Applications

PDO sutures provide extended wound support with minimal tissue reaction, reducing patient discomfort from rejection. They are suitable for superficial soft tissue closure and ligation in various surgical fields, including general surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery, gynecology, and urology.
