Technical Principle

RSVG series high-voltage static var generator utilizes instantaneous reactive power algorithm to calculate the reactive power change rate and provide dynamic reactive power compensation to improve power factor and grid stability, effectively ensuring safe and reliable grid operation. The use of DSP FPGA controller achieves fully digital control, and the reliable voltage and current can be carried out based on digital closed-loop and carrier phase-shifting means. Optical fiber for signal transmission provides high voltage separation thereby improving the reliability and stability of the static var generator. The H-bridge module composed of IGBT devices is featured by simple topology with reliable performance. The output voltage is multilevel step wave, and the sine degree is good after output reactor filtering. This high-voltage static var generator can be rated as an ideal harmonic-free converter thanks to its multiple output voltage levels and better harmonic spectrum.

RSVG series static var generator is composed of control unit, power unit, charging unit and cooling device. The power module of the power unit is connected to the power grid through wye-connection or delta-connection.

SVG can be widely used in
  • Power grid hub substation: Improve system transient voltage stability and ensure system operational safety.
  • Wind farm: Improve bus voltage stability and suppress oscillation.
  • Metallurgical industry, petrochemical industry, mining and electric railway: suppress voltage flicker, compensate unbalanced load, filter load harmonics and increase load power factor.
