JDSU FI-60 Optical Fiber Identifier
When installing, testing or troubleshooting fiber networks, technicians usually have to disconnect active fibers, and this is a major cause for service interruption. Given this, the JDSU FI-60 optical fiber identifier is developed to allow technicians to detect optical signals without disconnecting fibers, and its unique SafeChekTM easy-pull trigger system ensures safe and repeatable engagement with most types of optical fibers, thereby eliminating the need of changing out expensive dies.
On the other hand, this optical fiber identifier could be retrofitted in to an optical power meter (OPM) conveniently, so technicians don't need to carry too many tools with them during work. More importantly, the retrofit process is quite simple: remove the head attachment, connect corresponding adapter (2.5mm or 1.25mm) and insert a connector.
Feature
1. This live fiber identifier avoids network downtime and fiber damage due to the repeatable SafeChekTM system, and it uses a single head, which is applicable for 250μm to 3mm jacketed fibers, to finish testing in a short time.
2. Thanks to the ergonomic design, our fiber identifier realizes easy cable access under different environments, and the integrated ambient light shield not only enhances test reliability, but also avoids false reading.
3. After converting into an OPM, FI-60 optical fiber identifier is able to store and recall 100 power measurement results which are acquired at different wavelengths, and it could measure absolute (dBm) and relative (dB) power. Additionally, test results can be delivered to a PC via USB connection.
4. If connected to FiberChek2, this multi-functional fiber test instrument could provide fiber inspection, power testing and reporting capabilities.
Application
1. Quickly identify live optical signals on fiber cables without disrupting network traffic
2. Take optical power measurements for all single mode and multimode conncetors
3. Integrate with FiberChek2 software for integrated testing
