Fused glass, also known as crystal three-dimensional art glass, sagging glass or hot melt glass, is a new member in the family of decorative glass.
Manufacturing fused glass involves thermal processing technology and a special type of hot melt furnace. The main materials include clear float glass, low-iron glass and inorganic colorants. A specific heating program and annealing curve are set, and the glass is heated above its softening point. It is then molded by a specially designed molding die and annealed. If necessary, additional processes such as carving, drilling, and trimming may be performed.
Fused glass has the features of sound absorption, dazzling appearance, and elegant style. Its unique decorative effect has become the focus of attention for designers, glass processors, and decoration owners. Fused glass is rather expensive, considering it has better heat resistance, acid resistance, alkali resistance, and impact resistance compared than other types of glass.
Fused glass offers significant advantages, with rich patterns, strong three-dimensional effects, gorgeous decorations and dazzling brilliance. It addresses the monotonous and uninteresting feel of regular decorative glass facades, giving glass surfaces vivid shapes and meeting people’s desires for diverse decorative styles and aesthetics.
There is a wide variety of fused glass products available, such as fused glass bricks, fused glass for doors and windows, large wall-embedded glass panels, partition glass, integrated glass washbasins for bathrooms, and glass art pieces. It can be used to create TV and sofa backdrops, door and window glass, partitions, and even entrance lights.
