CZM-5 proton precession magnetometer is a highly sensitive low-intensity magnetic measuring instrument which is built on the principle that the magnetic moment of hydrogen proton processes freely in the geomagnetic field. The proton precession magnetometers are widely used for observation of absolute intensity of geomagnetic field, ground magnetic prospecting of industries such as geology, oil, metallurgy and coal etc., naval and aviation magnetic observation by geomagnetic diurnal variation measuring station, and magnetic measurement for earthquake prediction in geomagnetic observatories.

- Measure range is 20000nT—100000nT. The proton procession magnetometer can be applied anywhere on the earth.
- Full-range automatic tuning and manual tuning are both available.
- The magnetometer can monitor the signal quality. During the measurement, if the repeatability of reading decreases, operators would hear warning alarm, which alerts them to take measures to improve signal quality.
- There is a built-in real-time clock and the magnetometer stores both the measure results and time, which allows correction of daily variation.
- There is high synchronousness between daily variation observation and the stationary measure instrument (time difference is less than 1s), which greatly helps achieve highly accurate results in magnetic interference areas.
- The 192×64 lattice LCD screen can show real-time magnetic anomaly profile curves. The magnetometer is easy to operate and the data are recorded and stored automatically.
- The USB 2.0 interface speeds up the data transmission between magnetometer and computer.
- The built-in special software can pre-process the field data, such as de-noising smoothing, daily variation correction, drawing profile curves etc., allowing users to conveniently examine the intraday observation results.
- The magnetometer is protected by a hard aluminum alloy case with special waterproof connector, which endows the magnetometer with shockproof and rainproof abilities and allows it to operate in extreme environments.
- The magnetometer is small and the whole system can be carried with a backpack. One single person can manage the measurement.
- An optional large-capacity chargeable lithium battery pack can greatly extend field work duration.
