Petroleum Industry
In petroleum drilling, zinc carbonate reacts with H2S to generate a stable insoluble ZnS compound. After adding the zinc based additive this product, the mud’s performance is not affected by pollutants and corrosive H2S. It also acts as a sulfide scavenger.
Rubber Industry
Zinc carbonate is used as a reinforcement agent in rubber or cables, the activator in natural rubber, and a filling agent of white rubber colorant. The zinc compound can also be used as a vulcanization agent of natural rubber and neoprene rubber as well as a light stabilizer of polyolefin, polyvinyl chloride and other plastics.
