OPGW/ADSS Cable
Overhead power ground wires, or OPGW cables, are used in 500KV, 220KV and 110KV lines with a pressure over 110KV and for longer distances, usually over 250m. The outer OPGW is made of metal armor which resists electro-corrosion. These aerial power cables work well with short circuit currents and metal armor conductors to reduce tension strength.
ADSS cables contain fibers positioned in a loose tube made of high modulus plastic. The interior of the tubes is made of water-resistant FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic), filled with a filling compound and a thin polyethylene (PE) inner sheath. Two layers of armed fiber is placed over the sheath to strengthen it and then coated with a PE or AT (anti-tracking) outer sheath.
The OPLC optical composite cable are cables for long distance communications between stations, especially for applications needing high mechanical strength.
