The pipe fabrication work can be divided into many steps according the fabrication procedure. Hence, pipe fabrication plants require only workers skilled at only one of the procedures (such as the automatic welding operator, spool piece fitting-up worker, GTAW root pass welder, STT root pass welder, etc.) rather than highly skilled technical workers proficient in all procedures.
As a single pipe-fabrication step is simple and easy to learn, new workers are capable of learning to operate correctly and can earn a related skill training certificate after a short period of intensive training. This also makes worker training easier.
The workers can be anyone with high school diploma without any experience in piping construction and related industries.
Training Period- Automatic welding operator
A worker can be trained to learn automatic welding in 1 day, to work in the position in 2 days, be skilled at the work in 1 week, and earn a welder certificate in 3 weeks. - Spool piece fitting-up worker
A worker can be trained to learn spool piece fitting-up in 3 days, to work in the position in 1 week, be skilled at the work in 2 weeks, and earn our work license in 3 weeks. - GTAW and STT root pass welders
A worker can be trained to learn spool piece fitting-up in 1 week, to work in the position in 2 weeks, be skilled at the work in 3 weeks, and earn a root pass welder certificate in 4 weeks.
