J30 Series Rectangular Connectors
J30 series rectangular connector is built to GJB2446 General Specifications for Polarized Shell, Miniature Rectangular Electrical Connector, which are equivalent to MIL-C-83513 US Military Connector Specifications. Therefore, this J30 rectangular connector is interchangeable with the MDM connector used in the US.
Clad in a plastic housing or shell, the J30 military connector adopts stranded pins. Each contact (or pin) contains 7 contact points, which enhances the reliability of interconnection. The contacts are densely packed with 1.27mm spacing between contact centers. A small-size, lightweight body offers a high pin density with choices of the number of pins including 9, 15, 21, 25, 31, 37, 51, 66, 74, and 100. Designed for 0.07-0.15 mm2 cable cross-sectional area, the J30 series rectangular connector has custom designed contact terminal, which is also known as the terminal pin, terminal, or terminus.
Please note that the terminal or terminal pin refers to the metal component in a connector that conducts current. It is also known as the contact, and is usually either female or male though genderless terminals do exist. Good connectors are great for interconnect systems.
