IV catheters for veterinary use

Intravenous (IV) catheters, also known as cannula needles, are superior to traditional scalp needles. They reduce the number of punctures needed, alleviate the animal’s discomfort during infusion, and improve treatment efficiency.

Veterinary clinics commonly use 22G, 24G, and 26G sizes. Using smaller, shorter catheters, when possible, minimizes mechanical friction, reduces damage to the vessel wall, lowers the risk of phlebitis, and allows for extended catheterization time without affecting infusion speed.

Features
  • Beveled needle end: Sharp end minimizes discomfort and speeds up wound healing, reducing infection risks
  • Ergonomic push-off plate: Allows the vet to operate the catheter with one hand, while using the other hand to hold the animal still
  • Transparent flashback chamber: Large, clear chamber with magnification shows immediate blood return, making puncture verification easier
  • Double flashback technology: Ensures accurate catheter placement in the vein
  • Removable hemostasis cap: Can connect to syringes for aspiration or other treatments
  • Transparent heparin cap: Allows clear visualization of the needle tip for easy and secure pressurized sealing.
