Veterinary Infusion Supplies
IV catheters for veterinary use
Intravenous (IV) catheters, also known as cannula needles, are superior to traditional scalp needles. They reduce the number of punctures needed, alleviate the animal’s discomfort during infusion, and improve treatment efficiency.
Veterinary clinics commonly use 22G, 24G, and 26G sizes. Using smaller, shorter catheters, when possible, minimizes mechanical friction, reduces damage to the vessel wall, lowers the risk of phlebitis, and allows for extended catheterization time without affecting infusion speed.
