Selection should be based on the drilling program requirements. The casing diameter and size are determined according to the designed borehole parameters. For shallow holes, standard male-female threaded casing pipes are sufficient. For deep or ultra-deep holes, casing pipes with welded joints are recommended, as they effectively reduce the risk of casing failure during drilling.
Before use, grease should be applied to the threads to prevent dry friction. After use, casing pipes should be thoroughly cleaned, with particular attention to removing soil or fine sand from thread grooves. After cleaning, oil should be applied to the threads to prevent corrosion. Casing pipes should be stored in a dry and well-ventilated environment.
