Physical Properties and Applications Cobalt Chloride
Cobalt chloride (CoCl₂) is widely used as a precursor for cobalt-based compounds and in electroplating baths. It also finds applications as a drying agent in coatings and inks. Since cobalt chloride solutions have a low boiling point elevation, they can be efficiently concentrated using MVR (Mechanical Vapor Recompression) or multi-effect evaporation systems, depending on energy sources and plant setup. After reaching the required concentration, the solution undergoes cooling crystallization to recover cobalt chloride in solid form. The evaporation and crystallization process is designed to optimize resource use while maintaining product quality and operational safety.
