Rubber Industry
Resins are also widely used in the rubber industries, for tires and other general rubber products that require the use of low softening point hydrocarbon resins. Resin and natural rubber particles have an excellent miscibility, without causing major effects to the rubber vulcanization process. By adding a hydrocarbon resin to tires and rubber products, manufacturers can improve the thickening, reinforcement and softening effects. Our C9 resins are primarily used in general rubber products. The C5 resin, with its lighter color, and compatibility with natural rubber, heat resistance, oxidation resistance, and low softening point is more often used in thickening resins of NR and SIS rubber.
Rubber
Petroleum resin is most often used as a tackifier and reinforcing agent in the rubber industry for tires and other rubber products.
