Our TEFC VHS motors, equipped with a totally enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) enclosure, is suitable for humid environments requiring deep wells or cases requiring high protection. This type of motors is primarily used with fire pumps and deep well pumps for various applications, including deep wells, mines, power stations, and agricultural irrigation.

Key Features

Enclosed design prevents air exchange between the motor’s interior and exterior, with a rotor fan circulating internal air to transfer heat to enclosed components and an external fan blowing ambient air over the motor for effective cooling.

Material and lubrication system
  • Oil-lubricated motors ship with empty bearing oil reservoirs; bearings retain a thin oil film, but reservoirs must be filled after three months of storage, with prominent labeling advised to avoid improper operation, oil leaks, or damage to internal parts.
  • Two angular contact ball thrust bearings at the motor’s top manage upward or downward thrust, while a lower radial ball bearing handles pump-induced radial loads.
Corrosion-resistant materials
  • Motor body features cast steel, oxygen-free copper windings, and a squirrel-cage rotor with integrated upper and lower cooling fans.
  • Paired vertical turbine pumps use heat-resistant ductile iron, 2Cr13 stainless steel, or 304/316 stainless steel, ideal for impure or corrosive water.
  • Geothermal deep-well pumps incorporate slender pump bodies with high-temperature, corrosion-resistant materials, withstanding high-pressure subsurface conditions.
