The copper electrode tube of the hole drilling EDM machine can drill small holes in the workpiece using high-pressure flushing, and the surface of the workpiece will be etched by the pulse discharge between the electrode and the workpiece to complete the hole drilling. Generally, it is preferred to process the workpieces immersed into dielectric fluidsuch as pure water.
The hole drilling EDM machine is widely used for fast and accurate machining of small deep holes on automotive parts, aerospace parts, medical instrument components, valve parts, hydraulic parts, and much more. Generally, the workpieces processed by the wire EDM machine typically need to be drilled before cutting. The hole diameter processed by normal drilling machine ranges from 0.3 to 3.0mm. However, the high precision hole drilling EDM machine can drill holes with a diameter under0.1.
The hole drilling EDM machine can process superhard steel (die steel, tungsten steel, etc.) and any conductive material (aluminum, titanium alloy, etc.).
The hole drilling EDM machines come in two types, CNC hole drilling EDM machine and ZNC hole drilling EDM machine. The cost-effective ZNC hole drilling EDM machine is generally used for single-hole processing. CNC hole drilling EDM machine can provide multi-hole processing with high precision.
