This dynamic shear rheometer (DSR) is designed for asphalt rheology research, testing the mechanical properties of asphalt binders under varying load, temperature, and environmental conditions. The testing device evaluates the binder’s ability to resist rutting, enhance thermal stability, improve aging resilience, and reduce fatigue cracking by analyzing both the non-recoverable (adhesive) and recoverable (elastic) properties of asphalt. Using measurements of dynamic shear modulus and phase angle, the dynamic shear rheometer assesses asphalt performance in temperatures ranging from 5°C to 85°C. These tests are crucial for predicting how asphalt will behave during real-world applications such as road paving and heavy traffic loads.
