The block-on-ring testing machine is designed to evaluate the friction and wear behavior of metals, plastics, coatings, and lubricants under controlled conditions. By using a rotating standard ring and a fixed rectangular block, this friction and wear machine simulates real-world friction scenarios to assess material performance. During testing, the friction and wear testing system measures the width of wear scars on the block under varying loads, while also tracking the friction forces and friction coefficient between the test materials. It can operate under oil-immersed conditions to evaluate lubricant performance and is especially useful for studying the wear resistance of high-performance automotive gear oils.
