Product Overview

The gravity drop adapter, also known as a gravity coupler, is used during fuel unloading to connect a 4-inch API adapter on a tanker to a 3-inch or 4-inch drop hose, enabling smooth and secure fuel delivery. This coupling device is essential for bottom unloading operations, offering both safety and ease of use in fast-paced fuel handling environments.

Our gravity coupler is engineered for one-handed operation, allowing the operator to maintain full control of the hose during disconnection. Designed to be fully compatible with API RP-1004 4-inch tank truck bottom loading adapters, this unit features a 15° downward-angled hose outlet, promoting better fuel drainage and minimizing residue.

Features
  • The guided locking design aligns with the API adapter’s 12 o’clock position, ensuring a secure, reliable connection and easier handling during operation.
  • A 15° downward-angled outlet at the hose end ensures improved drainage efficiency.
  • Available in both male and female coupling configurations for compatibility with various hose systems.
  • Fully compatible with 4-inch API RP-1004 adapters, ensuring standardized connection.
  • Constructed from anodized aluminum alloy for superior corrosion resistance and long service life.
  • Fitted with nitrile (NBR) seals, offering reliable fuel resistance.

Our gravity couplers are typically constructed from anodized aluminum alloy for durability and corrosion resistance. The sealing elements are made from either nitrile rubber (NBR) or PTFE (Teflon), depending on the specific chemical compatibility required.

Gravity couplers fitted with nitrile rubber seals are suitable for petroleum-based fuels, including gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel, and marine fuels. NBR is not recommended for use with strong acids, alkalis, or highly polar solvents.

PTFE seals provide broad-spectrum chemical resistance, making them ideal for use with corrosive acids, alkalis, and aggressive solvents. They are recommended for more demanding chemical transport environments where maximum seal integrity is required.
