In addition to a billet caster, this continuous casting machine consists of mold table, starting heads and base, supporting bracket, hydraulic tilting mechanism, lift platform, control console, etc.

The flow distribution plate features a trapezoid mouth design that can reduce aluminum splashes in the process of plate cleaning and thereby improve service life. To avoid aluminizing and ingot surface cracking happen during production, the upper mold table applies a one-piece design of flow guide tube and adapter plate.

The starting head of the billet casting machine is fabricated from TH200 cast iron for maximum strength and rigidity. On its external cylindrical surface, it is designed with a tapered locating surface which ensures that the starting head will be accurately positioned after entering the mold. It is equipped with positioning adjustment pins and positioning bolts at the bottom, providing 6mm adjustment range for the starting head on the base.

Our starting head base is available in several types which depend on platen size and cast well construction.

It is fabricated from 25# U-steel and steel plates. Four head pulleys of the winch are installed in the bracket while the tilting base and tilting arm are installed on the bracket. Rotating joint and connector of water inlet are mounted beside the tilting arm. Rotating joint dimension is 5 inches.

The tilting mechanism can tilt the upper mold table upward 80—90℃. It can match with the casting machine to move up and down. Electrical control system guarantees that only one action of lifting and tilting can run at a time. The tilting mechanism is driven by hydraulic system. All hydraulic component including hydraulic cylinder, seals, valves and pumps are from world famous brand for maximum stability and efficiency. The hydraulic system applies 68# anti-wear hydraulic oil (provided by customers).

The lift platform comes with a rectangular structure. It is constructed from 10mm thick steel plates and 25# U-steels. On the top of the platform with semi-box structure is placed the starting head table. The platform boasts 2 sets of pulleys that are mounted near to the middle positions of 4 guide rails. Via wire ropes, they can move the table vertically. There are four guide devices fixed at four corners of the platform which are designed for ensuring precise perpendicularity and parallelism between platform top and the starting heads.

Starting head base is lifted and lowered by hoisting winch, and the casting machine is lifted and lowered by a 5.5KW motor, combined with WD280 worm reducer and gear reducer (98 large gears and 14 small gears). Casting length is determined via a coder.

Electric control system of the billet casting machine comprises main control unit, low voltage apparatus, various sensors and safety power supply unit. The system will warn the operator before casting is completed and control the casting machine to automatically stop before it is lifted to a desired position. Independent control console adopts PLC controller and comes with many buttons for manual operation. It ensures easy operation and effectively save labors.
