Self-supporting towers made of angular steel profile sections for use as telecommunication towers with heights ranging from 5 to 80 meters

3-legged angular steel communication towers consist of three angle-steel legs that converge in a triangular configuration and are fastened with bolts. The steel plates and connections at each joint reinforce the structure's stability and capacity to withstand strong winds. Thanks to their robust structure, 3-legged communication towers are widely used in suburban and remote rural areas to ensure reliable communication coverage.

  • Design Standards ANSI/TIA-222-G/H/F; EN 1991-1-4; EN 1993-3-1
  • Height Range 5–80 m, customizable to project needs
  • Design Wind Speed Up to 300 km/h, adjusted according to site conditions
  • Surface Treatment Hot-dip galvanized; Painting
Structural Design
  • Three-leg Arrangement
The structure is based on an equilateral triangular layout. The three angle-steel legs are positioned at 120° from each other and connected by horizontal and diagonal members, forming a rigid space-frame structure.
  • Connection Method
The 3-legged tower components are fastened using bolted connections, which is easier to transport and faster to assemble on site without complicated welding processes.
  • Foundation Design
Depending on ground conditions, a three-leaf raft foundation or independent footings are used to properly balance horizontal loads and ensure long-term structural stability.

Typical Installation Environments
Flat areas with stable soil conditions are preferred for this type of tower. Because it is economical and easy to install, this type of tower is often chosen for suburban and rural areas, especially in places where land is more affordable and wide signal coverage is needed.

Features

Structural performance

  • High Wind Resistance
The lattice-style framework with reinforced angle steel joints provides stable support and keeps signal transmission reliable in demanding weather conditions.
  • High Strength and Durability
The angle steel framework provides strong structural rigidity. All surfaces are treated with hot-dip galvanizing, offering excellent corrosion resistance and a long service life.

Cost Efficiency

  • Cost-effective material choice
Steel angles combine a lower unit cost with solid structural performance, which is suitable for projects in both urban and rural areas.
  • Easy installation and low maintenance
Due to the modular design, installation is simpler, foundation work takes less time, and ongoing maintenance stays at a lower cost.

Application and Adaptability

  • Adaptable to different environments
3-legged angular steel towers work well in counties, towns, open fields, hilly areas, mountainous regions, and special scenarios such as temporary communication setups. These angular steel towers are suitable for sites with low visual impact requirements and for locations with limited access.
  • Reliable technical performance
With a proven and mature structural design, these towers offer high overall rigidity and strong load-bearing capacity. They perform well in complex environments and in areas where transportation and installation are more difficult. Multiple types of communication equipment can be mounted according to project needs.
Project Application Examples
Manufacturing Process

Laser Cutting
Laser cutting is used to shape the steel components through focused beam cutting and assisted gas removal. The process offers fast cutting speed and high dimensional accuracy (up to ±0.05 mm), while keeping heat impact to a minimum. This reduces the risk of deformation and results in clean, well-defined edges.

CNC Punching and Shearing
Steel angles are processed through CNC-controlled punching and shearing lines. Automatic feeding, positioning, punching, and cutting are all integrated into the process, keeping production running smoothly and efficiently. Precise CNC positioning keeps quality consistent, even when working with more complex parts.

Hot-Dip Galvanizing and Surface Protection
The tower is protected with hot-dip galvanizing as the main anti-corrosion treatment, along with an extra plastic coating for added protection. The zinc layer protects the steel from rust and adds strength, while the coating gives extra insulation and surface protection. This combined treatment allows the tower to maintain reliable performance for over 20 years and adapt well to harsh environments such as high and low temperatures, coastal areas, and mountainous regions.
