Bronze bearings are commonly used in rotating machinery that require strength, reliability, and resistance to wear. They’re made from copper-based alloys and shaped as hollow cylinders, sometimes with one or two flanges, to support shafts and minimize friction in both light and heavy-duty equipment. These bearings are generally divided into two categories: plain bearings and thrust bearings. Each type can be customized to match specific operating requirements, with the choice of bronze alloy and lubrication groove design helping ensure stable and efficient performance under different working conditions. These bearings are made from high-strength and high-hardness alloys, which is ideal to withstand heavy loads, high temperatures, impacts, and reciprocating motions. They are also stable in wet environments or situations where regular lubrication isn't feasible.
Compared with standard bronze bushings, their hardness and strength are more than doubled, which helps maintain precision and durability even under demanding use. In addition, bronze bearings have good ductility, providing a balance between toughness and flexibility during operation and installation. Known for their strength, smooth motion, and lasting resistance to wear and corrosion, bronze bearings are a good choice for machinery that needs to run steadily over time.
Bronze bearings are produced according to the specific requirements and operating conditions of the equipment they are installed in. Manufacturing is done with micron-level precision, using bronze alloys such as C90500, C90700, C91700, and C94300, each chosen for its distinct properties and applications.
| Material No. | Category | Core Properties | Typical Applications |
| | Tin Zinc Leaded Bronze | • Balanced mechanical properties • Excellent cold and hot formability • Good weldability | Used for small and medium-sized gears, couplings, pulleys, pump impellers, and valve components |
| | Phosphor Bronze | • Good machinability and wear resistance • High surface precision after processing | Used for bushings, washers, and sliding blocks in light-load bearing seats and small mechanical connectors |
| | High-Strength Iron Bronze | • Stable mechanical properties at high temperatures • Good casting fluidity and high molding success rate | Used for guide sliders, high-temperature bushings, and components in thermal or heavy-duty machinery |
| | Aluminum Tin Bronze | • Good machinability (easy to cut and shape) • Low surface roughness | Used for precision nuts, screws, gear rings, instrumentation parts, and small bearing sleeves |
Bronze bearings are widely used across multiple industrial fields, including:
- Iron and steel production
- Automotive systems
- Mining equipment
