Flat Glass Production Line, Hot End

Batch charging system installed in front of the glass melting furnace for continuous feeding of raw material

Batch chargers are placed at the hot end of a flat glass production line, right before the melting furnace. Its job is to continuously feed raw materials onto the glass melt. The charging paddles move back and forth at a slight angle (about 10°), pushing the mix forward into the furnace. As the charging paddles push the mix forward, fresh material from the hopper drops down by gravity and spreads into a thin layer, with the gate controlling how much passes through. Keeping this flow steady is important because it allows the raw materials to melt at a consistent rate, reducing temperature fluctuations inside the furnace and helping the glass maintain stable quality throughout production.
